As a John Green fan, and someone who originally pre-ordered and read TFIOS, I felt it necessary to see the new movie adaptation. So, a few nights ago I went, on my own, to see it. And even though it’s been out for a while, and everyone and their dog has reviewed it (even if they haven’t seen it), here I present to you my opinion, just in case it matters.

Because the reviews of this movie I’ve heard have been pretty negative, I’ve decided to give you my opinion on Cloud Atlas. This movie has a lot of interesting parts, and so, to accurately discuss it, this review will be a bit more spoiler-rific to usual, so BE WARNED. Continue Reading
So, yesterday I went with some friends to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and I enjoyed it. I’d already heard a few reviews of it that were all pretty positive, but they were also a bit fanboy-ish. Now, it needs to be said that I’m totally new to The Lord of The Rings universe; I haven’t read any of the books, seen any of the movies, or played any of the games. I’ve only picked up bits and pieces off friends and pop references. The other disclaimer I have to make before reviewing this movie is that we saw it in normal 2D. It wasn’t HFR (high frame rate) or 3D, or any of that, however I still have a thing or two to say about that. Continue Reading
So, I like arthouse films. However, I don’t often get to watch arthouse films, for multiple reasons, no the least of which is that they only usually show at arthouse cinemas, which are quite a bit more expensive. However, a while back, a free ticket for one such cinema came into my possession, so the other day, I went and saw an arthouse film. Specifically I saw Safety Not Guaranteed. And, off the bat, I’m going to tell you, I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed it so much, I want you to enjoy it, so this review will be, as usual, spoiler free. Continue Reading
So, last week I saw the movie “Savages”. As you may realise, this kind of movie is not the type I would normally see, but I’ve decided I might as well review it anyway. Let me state now that I didn’t like it much, and hence there are numerous spoilers to follow. Continue Reading

So, last night I saw the new movie Looper, with a few of my friends. A particular friend of mine and I have always been fascinated in time travel and the possibility of such, so the fact that this movie centres around time travel had us interested. So we went and saw it, and now I have a review for you. As usual, I’ll try and keep it spoiler free. Continue Reading
So, a few days ago I went and saw the Ace Attorney (Gyakuten Saiban) movie with a few friends. I’m a BIG fan of the video game series, so I was quite excited and looking forward to seeing what they did with it. And I wasn’t disappointed.
** As usual, this review should be spoiler free. But if you’ve already played the games, you already know most of what’s going to happen.** Continue Reading
So, I saw the new reboot of the Spider-Man movies known as “The Amazing Spider-Man” today, and it was pretty good. Although, to a web-head like me (you know what I mean, true believers!), some of it just didn’t ring true. So to cover both, today my review comes to you in two parts: Part 1 – review without spoilers, Part 2 – nit-picking with spoilers. Continue Reading
