As a tech-head and hacking culture enthusiast, I’ve been waiting with bated breath for Watch_Dogs ever since I heard the concept: a sandbox Chicago where you play as a hacker who leverages the world around him with his hacking skills. However, when Ubisoft released the system requirement for it, I realised I would be waiting a bit longer if I wanted to actually play it. So I made it my mission to find a bunch of games that I could play without upgrading my PC that would give me some of that Watch_Dogs experience.

Because I’d heard a few bad reviews of Oblivion, I thought I should share my opinion. I actually saw the film nearly a month ago, but haven’t had the chance to finish my review until now. So here it is. Continue Reading
Because I’ve had my Raspberry Pi for about six months now, I feel it is time that I told you a bit about what I think of it. However, on some levels, I still don’t feel ready to review it. I haven’t used it that much yet, and I feel that I don’t fully grasp it’s power or purpose yet. Continue Reading
Because I successfully started every post from last year with “So,” I’ve decided to take up this challenge again and start every post this year with “Because…”. I think this will be a bit more challenging but constructive than “So”, because it will force me to answer the unasked question of “Why?”. Anyway, getting to what this post is really about…
I saw Wreck It Ralph the other day, which I’ve been wanting to see ever since I heard about it. And while it was a good movie, I don’t think it lived up to all my expectations. Continue Reading
So, for most of this year, I’ve had an iPad on loan from the House, so that I could share in the iPad experience, and better support them. Now that the year, and my traineeship, is nearly over, I have to hand it back and I’m left with a few questions: Was the iPad actually any good? Did I actually use it? Am I going to miss it? Do I want to buy one, now that I’m not going to have this one anymore? Continue Reading
So, there’s been Supanova, Armageddon and Oz Comic-Con ( I didn’t get to go to that) this year, and in essence they’re all the same. They’re a weekend-long occasion where a bunch of geeky guys and gals gather together, often in costume, to share their love of comics, anime, TV shows, movies and general pop culture. It’s a commercial event, so there’s always tonnes of stuff to buy, but also things to see and do. In short, it’s great fun. Yesterday I went to the Armageddon Expo, a pop culture and comic convention, with the same friends that came to Supanova. And following the trend, it was quite similar in some way to Supanova, but also quite different. Continue Reading
So, a few days ago I went and saw the Ace Attorney (Gyakuten Saiban) movie with a few friends. I’m a BIG fan of the video game series, so I was quite excited and looking forward to seeing what they did with it. And I wasn’t disappointed.
** As usual, this review should be spoiler free. But if you’ve already played the games, you already know most of what’s going to happen.** Continue Reading
So, last week I went to Supanova, a big pop culture expo sort of like Comic Con, with a few of my friends. We spent the whole day there and it was great fun getting to see and experience the geeky pop culture of it all. Continue Reading
