The Hobbit – Unexpected GuestsSo, yesterday I went with some friends to see The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, and I enjoyed it. I’d already heard a few reviews of it that were all pretty positive, but they were also a bit fanboy-ish. Now, it needs to be said that I’m totally new to The Lord of The Rings universe; I haven’t read any of the books, seen any of the movies, or played any of the games. I’ve only picked up bits and pieces off friends and pop references. The other disclaimer I have to make before reviewing this movie is that we saw it in normal 2D. So, a few days ago I went and saw the Ace Attorney (Gyakuten Saiban) movie with a few friends. I’m a BIG fan of the video game series, so I was quite excited and looking forward to seeing what they did with it. And I wasn’t disappointed.

So, this week I finally did what most true Nerdfighters and John Green fans did a few months ago: finish The Fault In Our Stars, a.k.a. TFIOS. The worst thing about this was I was one of the 150,000 people that got a preordered, and thus signed, copy of TFIOS so I’ve had absolutely no excuse for not having finished it much earlier. So, if you’re a loyal reader of my blog, you probably realise by now that I’m actually running two blogs. Well, not technically two blogs, but the same blog mirrored in two places: one on Weebly and one on WordPress. Why? It comes down to the simple fact that when I started on this whole blog project, I wasn’t quite sure what the best way to go about it was. Eventually, after a while of playing with the idea of free or paid hosting , as well as various platforms, I decided that the two with the most potential, and that sounded the best were WordPress and Weebly. So, after a seven year “hiatus”, Garbage, one of my most favourite bands of all time, have finally released a new album. I didn’t even hear about it until two weeks before it was released, and wasn’t really expecting myself to get excited, but as the release day grew closer, I just got more thrilled and more eager. I think one of the reasons I got so excited was that I have a 5-disc changer stereo in my room, and with this album I’d be able to fill it solely with Garbage. So, in the end, I went out last Friday, release day for Australia before anywhere else, and bought the deluxe edition. I bought the deluxe for two reasons, 1- It has four extra songs, and 2- It’s a nice bright red colour. Below, I have reviewed the whole of “Not Your Kind Of People”, track-by-track in addition to as a whole.
So, I’ve had my new phone, the HTC Sensation, for about a month now and I think I’m getting the hang of using it. There are still some things about it that annoy me, but some of the things that I initially thought were stupid are actually quite nifty. Continue Reading
