As the last post was pretty long, and full on, here’s a bit of a lighter look at the steps I took moving from Win7 to Win8. All information below is roughly in the order I did it, just in case you were wondering…

As I’ve had my computer for a while now (coming up to 3 years), early last year I decided it was time for a bit of a refresh. My computer was running really slowly and poorly for a while back there, so I decided that during my mid-year holidays (last year), I would reinstall Windows 7 on it, and start afresh. However, somewhere along the way my Dad convinced me that I should take the plunge and upgrade to Windows 8. And although that was about 6 months (and a revision of Windows) ago, I’ve been planning on sharing how it went from before I even made the decision to go to Windows 8. So here is the first part of what happened…

As I have done the last two years, all my blogs this year will start with a particular word. This year, that word is “As”. I think it’s quite a flexible one, and should lead to some interesting results. Anyway…
As a geek/nerd, I have friends who are also geeks/nerds. Last year (2012, so actually the year before last) we went and saw The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey on Boxing Day. This year (2013, so actually last year) the second part, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, was released, and while we didn’t see it on release day like last time, we only saw it a few days later but I haven’t had the time to review it till now. Anyway, here’s a review of it… Continue Reading

Because I’ve been spending all my time studying lately, the only thing I’ve had time to write is study notes. So I thought that I’d make the most of them, share a bit of my new knowledge with you, and give you a quick crammer’s guide to some of the topics from each of my subjects this semester. The information probably won’t mean a whole lot to you if you’ve never learnt anything about the topic before, but if you have, hopefully, this’ll clear up a few things for you.
This one’s about Web Programming. This subjects covers HTML4, HTML5, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and a little bit of HCI.

Because I don’t feel right posting this semester’s Crammer’s Guides without having posted all of last semesters, I’ve got this for you. Note that it’s a bit incomplete, because I have neither the time nor the drive to fix it, but I think it’s good enough that someone might find it useful. Also, If you see any inaccuracies, let me know in comments, so I can fix them up. So if you do, congratulations, and you’re welcome; otherwise, I’m sorry…
This one’s about Computer System Fundamentals. This subjects covers CPU cycles, binary, digital logic, RAM allocation and programming in assembly language. Continue Reading
Because I love The Little Stevies (or just Little Stevies, as they seem to be calling themselves these days), and received their new album a week and a day before it was suppose to be released, I thought I ought to give you a review of it. Continue Reading

Because I didn’t really know much about this movie going into it, and enjoyed it so much, I’ve got a review for you of Pacific Rim. Like my last review, I actually saw this movie ages ago, but have been really lax in getting this review done for you, so here it finally is. BTW, It’s got a few spoilers, so watch out!
