For various reasons, mainly involving Uni, my brother and I were only able to get to two comic book stores this year on Free Comic Book Day: Minotaur and Classic Comics. Thus this won’t be a very comprehensive review like in previous years, just a quick rundown of what we found this year.

If you are planning on buying some comics, or if you’re thinking about getting into collecting comics more, you might be interested to know that Melbourne has four different, and quite unique comic book stores within its CBD.
One of the most frustrating things when you’re just getting into buying comics, or if you’re only an occasional purchaser, is not knowing where all the comic book shops are and which have what (and at what price). That’s what this guide aims to clarify.
If you’ve heard of Nerina Pallot, you’re probably aware of her breakout hit "Everyone’s Going To War". I heard that song too when it swept the Top 40, but I first properly discovered Nerina Pallot’s work from a later release "Real Late Starter", and since then she’s become one of my favourite artists. If you’re a big comic book fan, you’ll already be aware of the annual worldwide event known as Free Comic Book Day. However you may not be aware of the offerings of Melbourne comic book stores in relation to this event. I’ve been the last three years, and I went again this year. So here’s my wrap up on what my brother and I found on our travels to Melbourne CBD’s comic book stores.
If I’m being perfectly honest, I haven’t played saxophone in over a year. Or at least, that was the case until a few weeks ago.
If you haven’t seen Big Hero 6 yet, you either are lazy or you need to read this review so you know why it’s worth seeing, because it really is a great movie. As always, I’ll try to keep this review as spoiler-free as possible, so that you can enjoy Big Hero 6 in all its magnificence for yourself.
